Units of Measurement#

There are two types of units in Fillet:

Type Description
Standard Units Built into Fillet. Things like kg, g, L, mL, oz, lb. Cannot be created or deleted.
Abstract Units Created by you. Custom units like “each”, “box”, “bunch”, “case of 24”.

Abstract units are attached to a specific ingredient or recipe. They can optionally have a mass (grams) or volume (mL) so Fillet can do unit conversions.

When a Recipe is created, Fillet automatically creates an Abstract Unit for it (e.g. “serving”). This is what allows other recipes and menu items to use it as a component — see Recipes for details.
